Vancouver has been experiencing a major heat wave for the past week and yesterday was the hottest day ever recorded in Vancouver.
This is a province where most homes do not have air conditioning and as a result of the intense heat many are flocking to the malls. There has been a run on fans at the stores and every placed I checked has been sold out.
Hope everyone is staying cool.

Other bloggers in Canada have been mentioning the extreme heat and how difficult it is to live with right now. Stay hydrated and take care of yourself. I hope it is more comfortable for you soon.
It was bad here in Forks for a couple days...thank goodness we live on the coast! We don't have AC either and those two days of heat was hard to deal with. I hear the heat is coming back this week so stay cool
The news reported the same thing happening in the state of Washington. No citizen or business had air conditioners or fans and I sure felt for them. The older I get the less I like the higher temps. Hope you got thru this heat ok.
Just wanted to ask if you took the picture at top of your blog with the canoe? Nice.
Yes, it's quite the twist on weather, isn't it?? I am not amused one little bit. Forest fires have broken out with each lightning storm that strikes out each night from the heating of the sun. There is supposed to be some relief in the near future!
Hi Chriss,
I hope things have cooled down now. We experience very warm days and nights in April and May and things become very difficult. Luckily I have a good air-conditioning system.
The temperatures are 28-30 °C here which is the normal --what I would call 'not bad'.
Thankfully it has cooled quit a bit, even gotten cold some nights.
VNV4 - No, I did not take the header photo. I wish I did. It is so calming.
Oh it is pretty and cool one...happy SS!
