Sky Watch Friday - Peach Sky

We've been having warm, sunny weather here in British Columbia, completely debunking the weatherman who said we'd have rain all week.
This photo was taken Monday evening. I heard lots of honking, looked up and saw this pair of Canada Geese heading home.

Daffodils in bloom

A true sign of Spring is when the beautiful daffodils bloom. We've been having lots of rain and they're springing up all over Vancouver.

Sunday Scenery - Vancouver Views

There are a few details I'd like to point out in this photo. The mountain range seen is the North Shore mountain range and it includes Black Mountain, Hollyburn Mountain, Mount Strachan, Mount Fromme, Grouse Mountain, Mount Seymour and many more. The white sails on the left of the photo is a section of Canada Place where the cruise ships dock. Again on the left, the tallest building is Harbour Centre, which offers a 360 degree view of Vancouver from the rotating tower. The waterway is Burrard Inlet and it separates the City of Vancouver from the slopes of the North Shore Mountains, home to the communities of West Vancouver and the City and District of North Vancouver.

"Protected from the open ocean, the calm waters of Burrard Inlet form Vancouver's primary port area, an excellent one for large oceangoing ships. While some of the shoreline is residential and commercial, much is port-industrial, including railyards, terminals for container and bulk cargo ships, grain elevators, and (towards the eastern end) oil refineries." Camera Critters - Sea Anemone

Sea anemone at the Seattle Aquarium, Seattle, Washington
"Sea anemones are a group of water dwelling, predatory animals of the order Actiniaria; they are named after the anemone, a terrestrial flower. As cnidarians, sea anemones are closely related to corals, jellyfish, tube-dwelling anemones, and Hydra." Source: Wikipedia

Where are you Spring?

We've been having strange weather of late. It's been fairly cold with high winds. This is the season for cherry blossoms but there are hardly any on the trees in my area. This morning we had snow and later snow mixed with rain combined with high winds. The winds and rain continue tonight and I'm really hoping this weekend is warmer and rain-free. I have the urge to go exploring but this weather just makes me want to hibernate indoors.
